The Consular Corps of Western Australia held the “Women in Leadership” forum on 18 March 2025 at the Consulate of Indonesia in Perth, as part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The event brought together community leaders and diplomats for an engaging discussion on the significance of women in leadership roles across various industries.
The forum showcased an impressive panel of speakers: Her Honour Judge Hayley Cormann from the District Court of WA, Greek Consul Eleni Georgopoulou, Defence West Executive Director Peta Arbuckle, and UK Consul General Maria Rennie. DFAT WA State Director Sally Dawkins facilitated the conversation, guiding discussions on resilience, innovation, and the unique contributions women bring to leadership.
Representing the Philippine Consulate in WA, Honorary Consul Melissa Dalisay Aguasa was among those in attendance, reaffirming her support for initiatives that empower women and foster cross-cultural collaboration.
In this intimate gathering, panelists shared personal stories and professional insights, sparking thought-provoking dialogue about navigating challenges, advocating for change, and inspiring the next generation of women leaders. The forum highlighted the importance of community and collaboration in advancing gender equality in Western Australia and beyond.
